Japan’s Hironatsu Yoshikawa wins La Union International Pro LQS
The La Union International Pro LQS was recently held over three days in La Union, Luzon, Philippines.
In the Men’s comp, local surfer Rogelio Jr Esquivel won for the third year in a row.
In the Women’s comp, Japan’s Hiroatsu Yoshikawa, who made it to the finals for the third year in a row, beat Natsumi Taoka to take her long-sought victory.
‘I was runner-up twice in this tournament, so I’m really happy to win this time. I love Launion. I love the warm welcome from the locals, the good food and the waves. This result means a lot to me. Last year I missed out on qualifying for the WSL Longboard Tour, so this win will help me a lot.’
